Breast Cancer

Case Studies

Breast Cancer

I know Dr. Bendale since the last 12 years. In June 2012 my mother in law was diagnosed with breast cancer. Without delay I rushed to Rasayu Cancer Clinic to seek his opinion.

My mother in law was ready to take any treatment except chemotherapy since she had seen a few close relatives who had undergoing chemotherapy.  She expressed her reluctance on her very first visit to Dr. Bendale. Going through all the reports, he recommended immediate surgery. With due respect to her wishes, he did not compel her to have chemotherapy.

As per his advice she underwent surgery. We also started Rasayana therapy immediately after surgery. Her recovery was satisfactory.

Surgery was uneventful but the cancer had progressed to local lymph nodes. Oncologist advised radiation therapy and Hormonal treatment thereafter. We knew about the risk of recurrence because of nodal spread. But respecting her decision was very important for us.

It was indeed, a challenge for Dr. Bendale to manage active disease as well as prevent spread to other parts of the body. She regularly held follow-up at Rasayu Cancer Clinic. She followed all instructions and had taken medicines religiously.

Her PET CT scan (June-2015) has shown no tumor or nodes anywhere in the body. For next 7 years she was leading a normal life. She and her husband visited relatives and places which they had planned earlier. Both of them were happy.

In June 2019, we noticed that cancer had spread in to bones. She breathed her last in Jan 2020. But we are very happy that she had led her life on her own terms. She was able to perform all her activities till the end except for last 15 days.

She survived well even when she had chosen not to undergo chemotherapy. We are happy that she had not only avoided side effects of chemotherapy but also showed improved survival.

For cancer patients, life without suffering is by far, more important than length of survival. Rasayana therapy has capability to provide both.

Proper guidance from experts like Dr. Bendale in cancer,  can give your loved ones, a comprehensive direction to strike this balance. Sincere thanks to Dr. Bendale for respecting her decision and giving valuable guidance through those last years.
